Sunset Series is back for 2022 with the 'Ocean Beach Sundowner 2'                                                                   January 7th, Friday 6-10pm at Ocean View Function Centre, Ocean Beach.

Its another dose of community spirit, coastal vibes & ocean breezes as we get set for an epic night of brilliant music to get you moving, seeing in the sunset and the stars. All overlooking Denmarks picturesque Ocean Beach.

Feautuing the prodigious sounds of Esperance band Grand Casual, the dynamic artistry of local favorite Myles Mitchell & his Folk Trio plus a captive solo performance from singer/songwriter Rowan Donovan.

This is an all ages ticketed event !! BYO drinks & Food Available with Local Food Vendor, Denmark Grass Fed Lamb (Vegetarian options also available).

GRAND CASUAL

Three lads escape the mundane on a pedantic search for spicy sounds, Grand Casual are an eclectic bunch. From the anxious, organised front man, to the resourceful guitar mechanic, and the exuberant comedic drummer, this is something else. Known for an exceptional live presence and genre-bending sounds, it’s no surprise the catchphrase “There’s nothing casual about these guys” has left the lips of more than one delighted audience member.

2021 was an actual whirlwind for the Esperance lads, Grand Casual touring as far as Exmouth, releasing three cracking singles Sway, Spaced and Who You Are, supporting industry heavyweights Abbe May and The Psychedelic Porn Crumpets, nomination for WAM best regional act for the third year running and railing the WA festival scene with slots at Nannup Music Festival, Wamfest, Strings Attached and Blues at Bridgetown. A schedule that gives rise to a finely tuned, high end act rolling at ace into 2022. Grand Casual are not to be missed.

MYLES MITCHELL FOLK TRIO

Myles Mitchell draws listeners into rich stories which transport us through time and space with the whims of an unencumbered musical imagination. His distinctive blend of indie folk and hip shaking alternative blues is infused with humour and exuberance which have become a hallmark of the Myles Mitchell live music experience. From Denmark WA, his music evokes the sounds of the South Coast. Mitchell’s song-writing has been described by Aurora Magazine as “worldly, wise, relevant, sexy, surprising and downright fun”. Accompanied by Emil Davey on violin and Jack Harrison on double bass, expect dancing, revelry and merriment with the Myles Mitchell Folk Trio.

Rowan Donovan is a consummate singer-songwriter with an exceptional vocal range and dexterity on the guitar. Donovan crafts delicate compositions brought to life through his bold husky voice and soulful lyrics. A recent new addition to the Denmark music scene Rowan is an artist not to be missed.
